His Name is Wonderful!

There is just something about flipping that calendar over to see “December” that sets our hearts fluttering – Christmas is coming! For those of us who celebrate Jesus and know the power of His saving grace, Christmas is a celebration of His coming into the world. Christmas is altogether wonderful when we look on it in this light.

As we think upon the life of Christ, we would say He was wonderful even just considering His life here on earth. A child, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, became flesh and dwelt among us. Yes, it is wonderful beyond our comprehension!

That the King of Glory, maker of Heaven and Earth and the one who said, “Let us make man in our image” was willing to come to earth, take on Himself the sin and shame of all mankind to save this world, which was lost - who can comprehend the enormity of this love? That our Lord and Savior was willing to do this for us is astonishing in its scope and without compare in its depth of meaning.

Yet for this King, for this Child, for this Jesus, there was no room in the inn. And sometimes today, we find there is no room for Jesus in our celebrations. Stake a claim on this month, beloved. Let’s make sure that there is room in our hearts, room in our lives, room in our CHRISTMAS…for Jesus!

For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulders. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6

Lord of All, that you for coming into a dark and needy world to bring light, to bring life, to bring hope. Help me keep you in the center of my heart this December. Help me to center my thoughts and celebrations around your incarnation that brought the good news to the world! Thank you, Jesus, for loving us this much! For the sake of Your Glory – Amen.

With Praises for the Once and Coming King!
