Probably the most surprising part of the book signing, however, and what brought tears to our eyes, was the number of people who came because they saw the article in the paper...and they had known Papa! What a blessing to be encouraged by folks who came down because they had appreciated our grandfather's ministry and remembered him as having pointed them towards the Lord in some fashion. One dear saint told us that our grandfather had baptized her when she was just a girl, while several had been joined in marriage or sat under his teaching while he was pastor of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, here in Camarillo, CA in the 1940's and 1950's.
Overall, we feel our focus sharpening. We personally know the impact that a life lived for Jesus can have, over the span of generations. Lord willing, we hope to see that vision of our Papa's extended, that souls may yet be saved, lives mended, and people find their place in God's plan as a result. Every word we speak, every deed we do is for His glory!
