There is simply no way to encapsulate all the joys, blessings, tugs-on-heartstrings, and WORK...into a few sentences.
When we tried to think what might be the most important things to share, one thought stood tall above the rest: We want you to all be so encouraged at the people being the hands, feet, and heart of Christ to the needy, the poor, the seeking, the lonely.
Now - there is no way we could ever highlight each and every ministry we have come to be better acquainted with over the past few weeks. We also realize that God lays different concerns and cares on the hearts of individual believers. But, we tried to select four very diverse ministries we came across, hoping to find something that will amaze and move each one of you! So - from legal defense to homeless ministries, to virtual reality, to global outreach...here we go!
We hope you enjoy this series!
Our first ministry highlight is: The Pacific Justice Institute. This ministry exists to defend religious liberty. They - free of charge - defend churches and individuals who are being targeted because of their faith. Here is a quote from their website:
"PJI handles cases addressing religious freedom including church and private school rights issues, curtailments to evangelism by the government, harassment because of their religious faith, employers attacked for their religious-based policies, students and teachers rights to share their faith at public schools. PJI also works hard to defend the rights of parents including their right to homeschool, review and have notice of public school curriculum and presentations, and opt out their children from objectionable material."
You may have heard their president, Brad Dacus, via radio on "The Legal Edge" - a radio spot giving quick updates on important cases, or through "The Dacus Report," a more thorough look at legislation or cases that have the potential for widespread impact.
We were particularly touched by the defense of parents they have provided in cases involving parental rights and education! If this ministry appeals to you - we encourage you to check them out at PJI.org !
