The creation shouts the message of the resurrection. As to all appearances my ash trees and lilies appeared dead, but are now brilliantly alive, so Jesus not only appeared dead to his disciples and the world, but actually was not alive. Then, power so great that death could not contain it burst the Messiah from the grave in a way our human thinking cannot comprehend. But the Heavenly Father frequently points us to the creation for lessons we can grasp. So we see that the bulb and seed are dead and buried before they erupt in vibrant life to their intended purpose.
In fine restaurants when our napkin is folded rather than crumpled it is a sign to the waiter that we are coming back. Do you notice that Our Lord Jesus folded his gravecloth? Look for Him soon. He will come quickly and we will either follow him in resurrection or be transfigured. We will finally bloom into what we were created to be to His service and glory.
As we observe these final weeks before Resurrection Day let us remember the message of Spring.
1 Peter 1:33 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.."
